For me it's just the fun, and having games like Mappy Kids that I wouldn't have checked out or even put on any of my other systems locked to this unit gives me a reason to come back and pick it up. However I think the unit itself is well-designed (except for the cart slot) and I've simply had fun playing on it. and could theoretically slap all these games on and call it a day. I'm not sure about the 'guilt' aspect, I'm fine to play these games however and I'm sure many folks are. Also, I would be extremely surprised if new cartridges were made for this thing in 10 years.
So I guess it wasn't made for me after all. Why? because it's a only a matter of time before this thing was hacked and I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from buying that everdrive/flash cart or whatever and then stop playing it after a day because of that. I think this thing had a huge potential, but the prices totally turned me off of it.Īlthough who am I kidding, even if it only cost $40 and games $10 it wouldn't last long. I say "theoretically" because even though I am that person, I just can't see myself forking $60 for a device plus $15 per collection cartridge. Someone that wouldn't have done this had his choices been more limited and more importantly: He paid for them. Theoretically I'm exactly the type of person the evercade was made for: Someone who with access to entire romsets wouldn't give most games a fair chance and would move on after 5 minutes.
